Occasionally we'd see interesting signs like this one...The road WAS rather steep, and we saw some deer on it. It just
went to the bottom of a valley, but was quite pretty. More logged area in the background.

Sorry for the big one. This is a composite I put together. I was standing on the road, and took three shots. There was one more to the left before it came back to the road, but it didn't match right. The view was breathtaking. Turning around, the hill behind me looked STRANGE, until I realized that the angle I was at allowed me to notice that all the trees were growing in perfect rows. It had been logged probably 30 years earlier and I was seeing the replanted trees. Forests shouldn't look like that. Those bare patches in this photo are logged areas.
